Probing new physics via rare event searches with nEDM, LEGEND and DUNE 1h

Explaining the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe remains one of the most challenging topic in Particle Physics, from both the theoretical and the experimental point of view. Among the many ways to address this fundamental issue, rare event searches offer privileged sensitive probes, including, among others, the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM), the neutrinoless double beta (0vbb) decay and neutrino oscillations. The former constrains electroweak baryogenesis scenario via the quark sector while the latter’s, preferentially leptogenesis ones via the neutrino sector.

In this talk, I’ll give a brief status of the nEDM search at the Paul Scherrer Institute, focus on the current 76Ge 0vbb decay search with GERDA/LEGEND at LNGS and finally provide some perspectives on the DUNE experiment side.
