On the extraction of collinear PDFs

In this seminar, I will discuss the general strategy employed to extract collinear parton distribution functions (PDFs) from experimental data. In particular, I will discuss the different ingredients that enter a PDF determination, including theoretical and experimental inputs and methodological aspects and highlighting the most common choices. I will finally examine more in depth the question of accounting for theoretical uncertainties in a PDF determination.
