Description

Vector-boson scattering (VBS) processes are among the rarest ever measured at the LHC. Beyond their potential to reveal new physics, these processes provide crucial insights into electroweak interactions in extreme phase-space regions, testing the Standard Model in previously unexplored ways. However, their measurement is particularly challenging due to low cross sections and significant background contributions. Interestingly, VBS shares experimental signatures with processes such as triboson production and Higgs production in association with heavy gauge bosons. In this presentation, I review necessary theoretical inputs for such measurements and discuss the intricate interplay between different production mechanisms.
