Zhi Hu: Accessing exclusive Bs to Xcs semi-leptonic decays from lattice four-point correlators

Description

We report a pilot study on accessing exclusive form factors of the semileptonic decay of a Bs meson to Ds, Ds* and Ds** states from Bs four-point correlators. With their inclusive nature, lattice four-point correlators include contributions from all possible final states, which we access via multi-exp fitting in the current study. With the recent developed methods to estimate inclusive information also from four-point correlators, this study may help to shed light on the following two long-standing puzzles in heavy-flavour physics:
(1) The discrepancy between the inclusive and exclusive determinations of the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa (CKM) matrix element Vcb.
(2) The gap between the sum of all currently known exclusive channels of a B(s) meson decaying into charmed-light (charmed-strange) mesons and the corresponding inclusive decay width.
