Top-down approach to repairing BK evolution
par
The Balitsky-Kovchegov (BK) equation, the non-linear evolution equation for gluon distributions in the saturation regime, is known to be problematic when approaching collinear kinematics. This has led to instabilities and even further to negative values for cross section estimates in saturation phenomenology. Several ad hoc solutions to this issue have been proposed with some success in improving stability in arbitrary ways, but so far no fully consistent and generalizable scheme has been discussed. I will present a top-down approach which fixes the problem in a mathematically consistent and a physically meaningful way, from which we can make sense of the previously proposed schemes.
