Description
The nuclear equation of state (EOS) is an important quantity for the understanding of neutron star structure, neutron star mergers and core-collapse supernovae. Using chiral effective field theory and many-body perturbation theory, the low-density EOS becomes directly accessible from microscopic calculations built on first principles. I will present recent calculations of neutron matter and symmetric matter from a range of chiral potentials and highlight next steps to calculate higher-order terms in the many-body expansion.
