Description
I will present a modification of general relativity in which a non-dynamical term depending on the topology of the Universe is added in the Einstein equation. The presentation will be an overview of the motivations and consequences for cosmology of this framework. In particular I will show how the theory allows for the construction of a simple inflationary model for curved backgrounds, something not possible in general relativity.
