Description

ACT Data Release 6

This Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches is based on the final data release of the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT), which has delivered detailed ground-based maps of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). Covering nearly half of the sky with arcminute resolution and unprecedented sensitivity, these maps form the foundation for precise measurements of CMB power spectra in temperature and polarization. The resulting cosmological constraints rival those from space missions, establishing LCDM as a remarkably consistent description of the Universe while offering independent confirmation of its key parameters. Beyond the standard model, the data place the tightest bounds yet on extensions such as additional relativistic species, neutrino masses, early dark energy, and interactions in the dark sector, with no significant deviation from LCDM detected. Together, these results demonstrate both the maturity of ground-based CMB cosmology and its essential role in testing fundamental physics with ever-increasing precision, forming the scientific foundation of this HDR.
