Description
Data taking at HERA ended in the summer of 2007, but the HERA experiments are continuing: new precision results are still coming in. The relevance of these experimental results on the structure of the proton is appreciated as an input for LHC analyses. This talk will focus on new results from ZEUS.
I will give a brief overview of these results: charm and beauty production has been measured in DIS using inclusive secondary vertices. These measurements represent the most precise determination by the ZEUS collaboration. Measurements of prompt photon+jet cross sections are presented as functions of the photon transverse energy and pseudorapidity in a wide range of exchanged-photon virtuality. Differential inclusive-jet cross sections have been measured in photoproduction. These cross sections have the potential to constrain the gluon density in the proton when included as input to fits to extract the proton parton distribution functions, etc.
