We review the main achievements of the first generation B-factory experiments, BaBar and Belle, and extrapolate the reached sensitivity to the physics potential of the Belle-2 project. We also discuss the milestones of the Belle-2 detector and KEKB accelerator upgrades, and their operation plans.
