We present the improved experimental measurement of CP conserving and CP violating quantities from BaBar and their implication on the bounds on New Physics. We discuss the expected improvements in the next two years, during which BaBar will increase the collected statistics at least
by a factor three. We are going to focus on how, with a dataset of ~ 1 ab-1, BaBar will move from testing the Standard model to indirectly probing the presence of New Physics. We also discuss the role of a next generation B-factory in the LHC era.
