We demonstrate that the topological charge of nonabelian gauge theory is not observable in two ways. This immediately leads to the resolution of the Strong CP problem, and the axion becomes therefore unnecessary, although not forbidden. We then inspect the phenomenological consequences to particle physics and hadron physics.
