What is the PHENIICS Fest all about?

The PHENIICS Fest is an opportunity for the PhD students of  PHENIICS doctoral school to gather themselves, share their work, and meet other students!

The event, which will be held for two days, has the following main highlights:

  • Oral presentations of 2nd year students covering the diverse fields of PHENIICS Doctoral School
  • Dedicated poster sessions for 1st year students
  • A talk by an external guest speaker
  • Awarding ceremony for the Best Oral Presenter and Best Poster
  • A guided tour of the SUPRAtech and the JANNuS-Orsay Facility of IJCLab
  • And a free Social Dinner (on top of the free lunch and coffee breaks)

All students have the opportunity to contribute to the PHENIICS Fest:

  • You're just starting your PhD? You are then invited to create a poster about your work: present the scientific context and what you plan to do for the next two years.
  • If you're in 2nd year, we propose that you do a 15-minute talk, just like in a typical conference.
  • For the PhD students on their 3rd year, we know that you are busy writing your thesis, so how about being the chairman of a session?

This is our preferred organization, but of course, if you prefer to give a talk instead of presenting a poster or becoming a session chairman, or the other way around, just feel free to tell us!

Reminder : The role of a chairman is to introduce each talk of the sessions, to check that the speaker does not exceed the 15-minutes time limit, and to lead the question and answer portion.

Please take into account the fact that we all work in different domains (nuclear, medical physics, accelerators...). Your talk/poster must be as pedagogical as possible and must be in English!
