Description
Firmamento (https://firmamento.space) is a web-based data retrieval and analysis platform dedicated to multi-frequency/multi-messenger cosmic sources.
Besides giving access to imaging, spectral, and timing astronomical data, as well as literature information, Firmamento provides Value-Added products and AI-Assisted special tools to support a very wide community of users, including citizen scientists and the general public.
The tools that are most relevant to the astroparticle community are:
- the Error Region Counterpart Identifier (ERCI), a tool used for the association of blazars with IceCube neutrinos, the generation of the 1 FLAT and the 2FLAT Fermi-LAT catalogs and the BReRASS e-Rosita blazar sample.
- Galactic-absorption-corrected SEDs, built using data from over 100 local and remote catalogs and databases, as well as data products generated from Firmamento and MMDC (https://mmdc.am) pipeline processing of archival data from Swift-XRT, Swift-UVOT, NuSTAR and Fermi-LAT.
- Machine learning and algorithmic tools to characterise the SEDs by estimating crucial parameters like nu_peak_S, nu_peak_HE, Peak ratios, Compton dominance etc.
- Flux extrapolation to VHE and MeV bands with detectability prospects for upcoming or planned telescopes.
- Redshift estimation from about 20 catalogs and web services such as SDSS-dr20, DESI-dr1, NED, SIMBAD etc. as well as direct photometric estimation via SED data comparison with host galaxy or blue-bump plus IR torus templates.
- SED comparison with SED templates of stars, galaxies blazars etc.
In my presentation I will give a brief overview of Firmamento’s capabilities and examples of recent results.
