The goal of this two-week conference is to bring together early-career researchers working in measured group theory and related areas, giving them the opportunity to learn from one another and from the invited senior mathematicians as well as launch collaborations.
In this sense, the daily schedule will be divided into two parts with minicourses in the morning and Questions/discussions sessions in the afternoon.

We are committed to support early-career mathematicians on all aspects of life in academia. We will in particular organize one extra-mathematical event each week addressing “human” aspects of a researcher life.
Like many mathematicians we are asking ourselves a lot of questions about the recent evolution of our field and the impact of large language models. We are very concerned about the ethics of the leading companies, when it comes to the exploitation of data workers, resources, water, and worried about the environmental impact of these technologies, in the form that they are now conceived. We know that many young people around us have similar concerns. We believe these concerns are legitimate, and would like to offer these young researchers a place where they can do and learn mathematics without having to deny their ethical values. This is why we would like to make it possible for them to have an AI free experience during the conference, in talks and organized discussion sessions. As a consequence, we will ask all participants to commit to not using AI during the specific events of the conference - we of course respect all individual choices, and this commitment will not go beyond the activities of the conference.
For environmental reasons, we will give the priority to participants coming to the conference without taking a plane, with an exception made for people from the Global South. We will not provide funding for plane tickets for early-career participants.
Apart from this rule, we will make sure to provide funding to all participants, both for travel and for your stay during the two weeks.
We have a limited capacity of around 60 participants. Priority will be given to mathematicians who are currently doing their PhD or a post-doc. We are committed to building a diverse community, and very much encourage applications from mathematicians from underrepresented groups. You are also very welcome to apply if you are working in a neighbouring field of research and would like to learn more about measured group theory, one of our goal being to build bridges between these fields.
