Description
The Canadian Data-Intensive Astrophysics Platform (CanDIAPL) aims to develop scalable cloud-based computing infrastructure and specialized software frameworks to enable the processing of petabyte-scale datasets generated by next-generation facilities such as the Vera C. Rubin Observatory and Square Kilometre Array (SKA) precursors. This initiative will include Realtime Analysis pipelines to identify and classify time-critical astrophysical events, enabling rapid discovery and follow-up. It will also develop infrastructure for Dynamic Datasets that processes static sky observations across facilities while supporting queries on time-varying data. Ultimately, it will provide a multi-messenger portal that integrates data across the electromagnetic spectrum and from gravitational-wave detectors, accessible through a single interface for researchers. We present here an overview of the project, describing its infrastructure for ingesting and processing alert streams and large scale databases. We highlight the software tools under development and discuss the successful contributions of the team in providing data support to existing radio surveys involving SKA pathfinders. Finally, we welcome input from the astronomy community on potential features and use cases to guide the development of the platform.
