Description

The IJCLab CTAO Weekly Meeting brings together team members to share scientific and technical updates related to CTAO activities.

Each meeting includes a brief discussion of interesting new papers, a round table covering recent progress, news, and any issues requiring input from the group, followed by a rotating presentation. The presentation may focus on ongoing work, a recent publication, or a conference report.

Participants are asked to add their updates to the relevant section of the Indico page before the meeting. The meeting is limited to one hour.

Location

Atreya and Maëlle’s office

    • 11:00 → 11:05
      Recent literature highlights

Brief discussion of recent publications relevant to the group’s scientific activities.

    • 11:05 → 11:30
      Round-table updates

Each team member has about five minutes to present recent progress, news, upcoming activities, or problems requiring feedback from the group.

      • 11:05
        Maëlle Perois 5m
        Orateur: Maëlle Perois (IJCLab)
        • Starting constructing catalog of Seyferts:  looking at IceCube catalogue of X-ray bright sources used for stacking analysis (BAT catalogue with ~800 sources).
        • Installing stuff :D
      • 11:10
        Julian Hamo 5m
        Orateur: Julian Hamo (IJCLab)
        • Waiting for SAPO review for the article on the detection of extreme states of blazars from optical alerts through Fink
        • Working on PSD reconstruction through Gaussian Processes to avoid uneven sampling impact on the PSD. Unsure whether or not the module (Pioran) is usable.
        • Probing on other time-relative quantities, such as doubling/halving timescales
        • Goal is to set a ML pipeline to characterize (and identify?) gamma-ray blazars through optical large scale surveys (from colour space and time space)
      • 11:15
        Anastasiia Miknno 5m
        Orateur: Anastasiia MIKHNO (LPNHE, IJCLab)
      • 11:20
        Atreya Acharyya 5m
        Orateur: Atreya Acharyya (IJCLab)
        • I serve as the convener of the CTAO AGN Population Task Force.
        • The project studies the AGN population accessible to CTAO, extrapolating the Fermi-LAT AGN population into the VHE regime and accounting for source variability and CTAO detectability.
        • My main contribution is the gamma-ray luminosity function reconstruction, using simulated CTAO populations to determine how well CTAO can constrain the luminosity and redshift evolution of the underlying blazar population.
        • A full project and progress update will be presented next week.
      • 11:25
        Tiina, Jonathan, Federica 5m
Orateurs: Federica Bradascio (IJCLab, Université Paris-Saclay), Jonathan Biteau (Université Paris-Saclay, CNRS/IN2P3, IJCLab), Tiina Suomijarvi
        • Tiina: working with Pooja on paper on CTAO simulations of Pevatrons candidates. Repling to comments from Journal.
        • Federica: preparation of day-after shifts for NectarCAM, updating TRR requirements, finalizing dark matter on galaxy clusters.
    • 11:30 → 11:55
      Rotating presentation

A 15-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of discussion. The presentation may cover ongoing work, a recent publication, a methodological topic, or a conference report.

      • 11:30
Multi-messenger study of Seyfert Galaxies Variability 15m

Maëlle will present her M2 internship results and topic for her PhD research.
