Building Immune Digital Twins

Objectives of the workshop

The proposed workshop is intended to bring together a group of researchers with expertise covering all aspects of the IDT challenge, to develop a roadmap for the construction of a prototype IDT. Required expertise includes immunology and its experimental and clinical aspects, mathematical and computational modelling, and software engineering. While the workshop will treat all the different challenges involved, the main focus will be on the scientific aspects of building and validating immune system models for different purposes. The structure of the workshop, outlined below, mostly uses open lectures, round table discussions, and working groups, and is geared toward identifying potential partners, discussing collaborations on an international level through relevant funding calls, and also producing a written document, suitable for publication, that will detail the state of the art and important milestones of an IDT roadmap, highlighting its scientific, technical, and organizational challenges.
