About the Musée d'Orsay
In the heart of Paris, along the banks of the Seine, facing the Tuileries Gardens, the Musée d'Orsay is housed in the former Gare d'Orsay, a building designed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
The Musée d'Orsay is famous for its collections of Western art from 1848 to 1914 in all its forms. It has the largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the world, with over 1,100 artworks, including masterpieces by famous artists such as Manet, Cézanne, Monet and Van Gogh.
