Description

Nuclear experiments and theory both fail to describe the behavior of dense and highly isospin asymmetric matter in relatively low temperature regimes. Such matter is however present in the deepest layers of the highly compact astrophysical objects that are neutron stars. In this talk, we discuss how astrophysical constraints based on multi-messenger observations of neutron stars have constrained the equation of state of dense matter and what improvements are expected with the next generation of detectors and observatories.
