Description
The top quark is the by far heaviest known elementary particle so far. In the heavy quark sector Standard Model predictions are less consistent than in other sectors. With a top quark mass of about 175 GeV, top quark studies are highly relevant topics for any lepton collider which will be operated at centre-of-mass energies between the t tbar threshold and about one 1 TeV. The workshop aims to bring together theorists and experimentalists to discuss the potential for the discovery of new physics given the high precision which can be expected at a future lepton collider. The workshop precedes the European town hall meeting and therefore on the second day other topics of major interest for a lepton collider in the mentioned energy range will be discussed.
