Venue at Institut Pascal (IPa) - Paris Saclay
See here for recommendations to reach IPa and Residhome.
The School will take place mostly in one of IPa's amphitheaters. Students will also benefit from IPa's common working places and a number of shared offices. Lunches will be provided by the School, close to IPa.
Accommodation & registration fees
We provide small apartments/rooms at the residence "Résidhome - La Guyonnerie", located in the nearby town of Bures-sur-Yvette. Résidhome is located within 13min walk from the RER station "Bures-sur-Yvette" (40 minutes from downtown Paris). To join IPa from Residhome, there is a 1.2km walk climbing a trail in the forest (we recommend appropriate shoes), or public transportations may be used (bus line number 7), see more details here.
When filling the preregistration form, students should choose between two housing options at Résidhome, with different registration fees:
- Double room (you may of choose a specific roommate): 800€
- Single room: 1100€
Registration fees include participation to the School (including social events), housing and lunches during the week days. After registration is approved by the organisers, the payment of registration fees is to be done to Paris-Saclay University, by bank transfert (details provided by email).
Covid & in-person presence
The school will be held at the Institut Pascal, within the Université Paris Saclay, France. Although lectures are planned to be video-recorded, we expect in-person presence for all participants. Direct interactions with students and lecturers, as well as the participation to hands-on and student presentations are an important aspect of the school. If the pandemic situation were such that the school could not be fully held in-person, we would convert it into a fully online event, and registration fees would be reimbursed in that case.
Sanitary restrictions will apply in accordance with local rules at the time of the school (for example the EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent may be required to enter IPa). Relevant informations will be provided to participants in due time.
Update - March 2022: recently, restrictions in France were significantly reduced. A vaccine pass is no longer required to enter Institut Pascal, restaurants, etc. Even the mask is not mandatory anymore in certain closed spaces (it is still mandatory eg. in public transports). However:
- Sanitary restrictions / conditions still apply to enter France from your own country (vaccine pass or test)! Please check very carefully the conditions that apply to enter France from your country, this is your responsibility!
- Covid is still actively circulating, with cases rising again in France and other European countries. We therefore very highly recommend that you apply reasonable physical distancing measures, in particular please wear a mask inside IPa whenever it is possible. And test/isolate in case of doubt!
