PHENIICS Fest is the annual student conference of the PHENIICS doctoral school, organised entirely by and for PhD students.

Join us for a unique opportunity to meet other PhD students from similar fields, discuss physics and share your research.

How does it work?

• 1st-year PhD students: present your work at the poster session and get your first taste of conference life!
• 2nd-year PhD students: take the stage with an oral talk (12 min of presentation + 3 min of Q&A) and tell us what you've been up to!
• 3rd-year PhD students: we are just happy if you make it!

Quantum mechanics, at its heart, can be recast as an algebraic deformation of classical mechanics. While this approach - which is equivalent to the usual Hilbert space formalism - is theoretically satisfying, it also suggests that some quantum systems can be emulated through a simple deformation of the classical Hamiltonian dynamics. This presentation will give an overview of this algorithm, which has been concurrently developped in nuclear physics and bosonics physics for 10-20 years.
