HF2022: Heavy Flavours from small to large systems

This program focuses on the physics of open heavy flavour and quarkonium production in the hot and dense QCD medium created in heavy-ion collisions, as well as in vacuum. The scope is to foster discussions among theorists and experimentalists, towards unifying the description of the open and hidden heavy-flavour sectors. Details on the scientific program can be found in the program tab.

This is a three-week program. The first two weeks will consist of selected talks by keynote speakers with ample time for discussions. One or two topics per day will be addressed (max. of 2 oral presentations per day, allowing time for discussions).

  • Week 1: HF production in proton-proton/nucleus, electron-proton/nucleus and ultra-peripheral collisions;
  • Week 2: HF production in cold and hot nuclear medium;

The third week, a workshop will be organised to summarize the discussions and link them with other related topics.

This program will be hosted by the Institut Pascal (Orsay, France). The participants can be allocated an office during their stay.

The organisers would like to ask participants needing a calm space for babies or toddlers, as well as those needing help to find daycare for their kids during the program to please contact us. We will do our best to help you.

les oeuvres d’art révèlent leurs secrets sous le faisceau de particules de New AGLAE 45m

      Depuis 30 ans dans les sous-sols du Palais du Louvre, l’Accélérateur Grand Louvre d’Analyse Elémentaire, alias AGLAE, est exclusivement dédié à l’étude d’objets du patrimoine culturel, à l’interface des sciences humaines et naturelles. Parce que ces artefacts sont très souvent uniques, fragiles et précieux, un prélèvement, même micrométrique, n’est pas envisageable. Pour cette raison, une ligne de micro-faisceau a été développée spécialement pour réaliser des analyses par faisceau d’ions dans l’air directement sur l’œuvre.
      Pluridisciplinaire, le projet New AGLAE a pour but de mettre à la disposition des équipes de recherche françaises et européennes une ligne de faisceau exceptionnelle et multifonction avec une résolution spatiale, une stabilité de faisceau et une sensibilité de détection des photons X et gamma ainsi que des particules chargées optimisées.
      De nombreux cas d’étude sur de prestigieux objets du patrimoine illustreront l'apport de ce grand instrument au sciences du patrimoine et les nouveaux défis relevant de la patrimonialisation des données générées par l'accélérateur seront présentés.
